speculation rampant

i does seem insane but it also made me think when i was buying silver everyone laughed at me but now im seeing regular people realize that their dollar is dwindling and the only way to save it is to hedge this inflation it makes me wonder what will happen next if more and more regular joes start buying silver the deficit will really take effect on the manufacturing sector that ned the above ground supply

Craaaaazy! You better get yourself some 64's and start selling them!

If they were Gem BU slabbed coins then those prices are decent. If they were garden variety junk silver then they were ripped off. Silver would have to be almost $35 an ounce for them to even break even.

they were no better than the one i found in rolls hey thats what im saying if this kind of frenzy takes off look out all its takes is one guy telling his buddies and pretty soon youve got a whole die shop buying or a mechanics garage or a tire shop hey i heard about silver in 2003 and im glad i listened and i worked at a construction company there were 7 of us and after several month of listening to this guy talk about it over and over i baught in and so did the rest of the guys

I guess anything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Prices really dont matter so long as everyone is happy in a transaction.

hehe, it could be chickens for silver halves or goats or buckets of butter. Whats it really worth?

Anyone want to trade away there silver for beeny babies? LOL

It would be interesting if the economy did a reversal and silver and gold went down, like in the late 90s. Would there be selling...or buying.

With so called Economic Stimulus Payments and the Feds lowering rates when all indications say they should be raised, I think our dollar is in for a brief death spiral. I'm seeing third world currencies with 10%+ inflation doing better than the US dollar. It's a real shame.

If they really want this Stimulus Package to work they should issue the money on a debit card. That way they can ensure the money gets spent the way it should. With checks, consumers will pay off credit cards, put it in the bank, under the mattress, and other ways that defeat the purpose. As far as fraud, stolen cards, etc. they could make the recipient's SSN the PIN on each card.

I think I will by some rolls with mine...........if I can get to it before the wife......LOL

I was told by my tax guy that it is just a advance on next years tax returns. Everyone better put it back and hold onto it or you will be paying the IRS next year. I'm putting mine in a CD. Atleast I can draw a few dollars on it then next year at tax time the money will be there. Really read the fine lines on this tax check coming out soon. You wouldn't want to get screwed next year.

Engine is correct. This "incentive" is just an advance on next year's return. This forum should just use theirs to buy halves, pull the silver, turn in non-silver halves for bucks, buy more halves, pull the silver etc., etc. By the time next tax season rolls around, you will have all silver at $600 face. I'd guess about $5,000 worth! :o

Like I said...................

I think it's wrong for the government to be sending out checks to anyone to begin with, it's not going to help the economy in the long run anyhow, people gotta learn to keep their spending in check with what they make. yeah yeah I know, people don't make enough, maybe they should think about that then when they charge some Ipod thingy or something else that they really don't need. It's their own fault. Just like people that signed the bottom line on ARM's, did they really think that the intrest rates would always stay the same? Didn't they learn anything in school? I know this is way off topic of what this forum is for, But I just wanted to respond to the posts above! Hate me for thinking people gotta learn the hard way.

Oh, I do have a 26 year old daughter that has a daughter of her own, she could use the money, But I still don't think it's right!

The economic stimulus check is an advance on a one time tax credit for 2008 not an advance on your 2008 taxes. Not exactly the same thing, credits do not have to be repaid. You might want to recheck with your taxman or perhaps a different one.I believe that my check will just about cover a ryesdale,so mine is already pretty much spent.I hope to have a nice pile of copper before melt ban is lifted. There are so many people looking for halves in ohio that its impossible to find much silver.Brinks boxes really bite here and the few hand rolls that get turned in are scarfed up as soon as they hit the bank.In the last month or so i have had quite a few tellers tell me they are keeping silver as it comes thru there window.Im still picking up a few boxes and all the hand rolls i can find but im planning on spending more energy on the pennys till silver prices drop.hh jon
