Cool. Talk your girlfriends dad into buying a new one and maybe he'll sell you that one. It is a habit forming hobby. Also check and see if there is a place near you that sells detectors. THey might have used ones, also I think there a sections here at Tnet where we can post to sell used equipment. Check some of the Detector dealers on the internet, they might have used one too. I think KellyCo sells used ones too.

The whites spectrum is a great machine with nice depth. My buddy had one and I myself saw it out preform several other machines.
