My favorite find was this spring at a foundation I always wanted to detect. I got my detector for Christmas this year from my husband, so I was just a beginner.

My husband took me and my detector to the foundation on his four-wheeler with the detector across the back....sticking out a little on both sides. (You know where this is going, don't you?) I asked him to be careful and I yelled just as he was trying to get closer to the foundation and snapped off the coil by squeezing between two trees. I told him go home and fix it while I waited for him.

He came back after about an hour. So I started detecting. He made me mad again, because he was planting coins for me to find. I guess he didn't want me to come home empty handed. So I yelled at him that I could find my own things. Just then, I got a good signal and dug up a 1847 large cent. I just handed it to him. ( and jumped up and down and screamed with excitement.)

I've made a believer out of him that day. Now he brags about the finds I make to the guys, he works with, who metal detect. And now we take apart the detector when we go out on the four-wheeler! ;)

First really good jewelry find was a citizen watch worth 400 bucks.
My best coin was actaully an unexpected surprise, i was detecting a small park near a beach on capecod thinking it would be all hunted out, but i got a signal and around 5 inches down i found an 1828 half penny :o now how did someone miss that one :P
I couldnt pick a "favorite" relic but iv got a ton of them :)
