Just went to my bank to get some dimes. When I got out to my car I realized about half of the rolls (the paper rolls) were re-rolled! Seriously!!! Who re-rolls dimes in the same paper rolls.

Anyways....just my rant for the day. I got skunked on the dimes. Luckily there were the right amount of dimes in each of the rolls.

Happy Hunting,

Do you mean re-rolled in the fed rip-n-tears? Or re-rolled in normal rolls?

The fed rolls is crazy but has been done in the past. HUGE waste of time in my opinion and people who do it are insane. The other normal rolls though, I've re-used those a ton when I'm not using a coin machine.

in my area i have to rewrap most everything. the fed rolls are easy to unroll and repackage in less than 10 seconds per roll ( i only edge search) for halves, dimes are a little trickier and its easy to get replacement rolls for dimes rather than halves.

Whoa! Re-wrap dimes? Thats nuts. I'd just take em back unrolled in their box. I do that, no problems.

I'm not sure if I'm insane or not. Some have called me worse. Anyway, my banks (I've tried them all) only take rolled coins. I do mostly cents at a rate of 1 box + 20 to 30 rolls per week. I find the "fed rolls" to be easy to open at one end, dump the cents out & then stuff 50 zincs back in the open end. This method only adds a few to seconds to each roll searched. I search by hand, looking at each coin for date (I keep the copper) and look for errors that can be seen by eyeballing. I put the cents in stacks of 10 as I go. This makes it easy to re-roll as I go. This technique probably wouldn't work for a high volume searcher.
I have no wasted paper when I'm finished as well.
What is "insane" to one is perfectly normal & efficient to another.

Sorry. I meant the machine-rolled rolls, not the reusable paper rolls.
