Hunted an old site this evening and only found one good coin and some relics including crotal bells. This is my second spanish silver for the year and I am not going to get a date off of this one, pretty smooth. I am hoping though that you can give me an era and maybe a picture example of what this coin should look like. It is the same size as the 1/2 reale I found earlier this year but is not the same design. Thanks!

Canadian Victoria 5 cents/10 cents. Measure it in mm to know.

I think you are right, I just found one that was an 1888 with the same design. Found it by googling dei gratia regina. Thanks patch, I thought I had another old spanish coin :'(.

I once had a very bad tease like that. I was digging a very small patch of ground finding at least 15 targets, all dating to the mid. 1700s. Then I heard it, the type of signal you know for sure is a coin, and most likely silver. I dug it up and thought I had a real good oldie but unfortunately ended up being a very worn Victoria silver quarter.

Oh Yeah, forgot to post pics of a couple of the other finds tonight. What kind of a buckle and era is this? More crotal bells for the collection.

In your last photo, the buckle is a harness buckle shield (probably mid 1800s or so). The top bell is a crotal bell and the one on the right is a sleigh bell.
