Hello everyone, my name is Chris. I live in VT and i've been detecting for about a year now. I love it!
I found this coin yesterday in a fiel in my hometown and i can't tell what it is. It looks like a spanish cob but it's too good of shape and it's perfectly round. It was only 3 inches in the ground. It look's to have pillars and waves on one side, and a cross and what looks to be animals of some sort on the 4 corners of the cross. It is a little bigger than a quarter.
Could it be a fake? It rang almost like silver but it doesn't seem to be. Hope someone can help!

Yep. Sorry. It appears to be a modern replica that resembles a Spanish colonial Pillars and Waves type cob. But that is one that I havent seen yet and Ive seen a lot of them. It appears to be copper or brass. Interesting find. I cant tell you where it came from.
