Well I have been very busy digging.... The storm moved tons of sand for us in the last week or so.....I have been working a cut that produced a nice spanish lead seal & a 2 Reale the other day... Went back today and it was game on... I have NEVER dug as many silvers in 2 tides... It was absolutely crazy... Lets start with 6 Half Dollars... 1 was a Benjamin... and the others were Walking Libs... 18 Silver Dimes 3 were seated and a nice old Canadian Dime....8 Silver Quarters .... 3 were Barbers..3 were Washingtons ....and 2 were Standing Libs...3 V nickels...4 Shield Nickels....and for my prize find a beutiful Spanish Cobb....I thought it was lead till I got home and noticed the Cross...man oh man... you just never know... Can anyone help date it?....Many wheaties, over 35 of them..... all sterling rings... no goldies....The Brass Purse was dug by my son... it had no coins... I am going to frame it for him as a surprise Birthday present.... Got a few musket shots too...what a hunt.... Thanks for looking Happy Hunting DSCN0202.JPGDSCN0205.JPGDSCN0207.JPGDSCN0215.JPGDSCN0218.JPGSpanish Cobb (1).JPGSpanish Cobb (2).JPGSpanish Cobb (3).JPGSpanish Cobb (4).JPG

Killer day. Your son got the purse and you got the spill. Congrats.

Well, heck with the second display table, you're quickly approaching the need for an entire room full of display cabinets & shelves now. :laughing7: :icon_thumleft: "Awesomer!"

That is absolutely... incredibly.... awesome...........And all this happened in just a couple days? Gotta be some kind of record! Congratulations.

Holy wow. I could only dream of having a day like that. Your heart must have been going with every good target you dug!

Incredible finds. What a cut. And what a concentration. Thanks for posting the many tales & pictures.

Congrats Leighton on some very nice finds, the Spanish silver one reale looks very similar to the Mexican cross ones that I find on the Treasure Coast. Probably late 1600s early 1700s, the guys on the T-Net Shipwreck/Cobb forum should be able to tell you exactly what it is. Keep up the good work!
Cheers Gary

Thanks Gary. I actually thought that it was may be a half reale... its so small. I threw it in my pouch. checked it when I got home... I was astonished to find a cross on the dang thing... I never throw anything away....and always take my trash away with me... This time it paid off to keep those tiny ( LEAD ) pieces...lololcobb (1).JPGcobb (6).JPG
