Spanish Cob?

Hello everyone,

Years ago I was given a bag full of various coins. Most were from Europe, but a few came from Australia, South America, etc. All of the coins appear to be modern except for this one. Looking into it, it seems to be a Spanish cob? Does anyone know exactly what it is, when it's from, and if it's genuine? Thanks in advance!

It's a modern replica cob.

judging from the fact it came with a bunch of modern coins that would point to it being a modern replica......however, just by look, has an authentic look. Maybe in real life it feels lightweight and plastic, but if it has decent weight, would be worth to take it to a coin dealer or at least a jeweler to test for silver content.

Nothing to do with what it was bought with, it's very clearly a modern plated cast coin.

The coin is definitely not plastic, it is actually quite heavy.

Iron Patch, what qualities point to it being a modern coin? I'm more of a natural history buff, so coins are far from my area of knowledge.

Once you look at them enough it's easy to tell cast and plated vs struck and silver. And I said this one is not even close. Post it on the Spanish Cobs forum and you'll be told the same thing.
