I saw you the other day and you did look different, but I did not realize that you had a jaw tooth extracted! lol - Great find my friend.:icon_thumleft:

Good grief! That is a huge tooth. Nice find. How did you clean the tooth? Did water alone give it that shine?

It was pretty clean. water polished from swift current. A friend was polishing them, and shark teeth on a buffing wheel with jewelers rouge. He told me to scrub it with steel-wool and bring it to him to polish. After I did that, it had a high gloss, so I left it just as it was.

Please please! Never put steel wool to that!
You know that brigs down the value of those shark teeth too.

I use that rouge when doing antler. It is amazing as is your tooth!

It depends on the buyer. Most people want their Fossils polished over left dull. Go to any Fossil show and you'll see 90% of the Fossils polished.

Alot have a natural Polish..no steel wool involved. Here is one of my whale teeth and a few recent shark teeth.
The enamal has a nice luster quite often..saying 90% at fossil shows are pollished is not the case.

Well Not to argue, but still disagree. I know quite afew ( collector/ sellers ) who all polish their fossils and have been to shows from NC to FL and most on display were polished. Just an opinion!
