Sovereign Guru Question

I've got a Sovereign 180 meter like the one pictured. It worked fine with a Sovereign XS I had, but I just hooked it up to my XS-2 and get nothing but 000. Is it not compatible? I seem to recall something about some meters not working with other Sovereigns, but I thought it was backwards compatibility issue, not forward.

I may be wrong. It might have been an Elite I used it on, in which case it would be a backwards compatibility issue.
