I saw in another forum were a lot of users were haveing trouble with the lower shaft on there Sovereign GT.. coming apart were the coil fits on by the sounds of it............. If they send the lower shaft in Minelab will replace it for free ......A lot are useing Grollia Glue to fix there own on new detectors........You get a new detector and have to glue it together ???................... But you know when you buy a detector big bucks to a lot then they fall apart whats wrong with this world now a days ? ............ I have no problem with my sovereign but i have a older one..........

Mine too is older and has no trouble, yet. Seems big business is only interested in the bottom line and wants the lowest bidder. Maybe we should start doing the same.

regardless of what kind or who did what to theirs

botton line is you always should have a spare in your car or truck......... :icon_pirat:

You must live in a dream world.... A lot of hunters out there are lucky if they can afford one detector...............

I think we all live in a dream world ....That's what keeps us going..............

Max,
Great advice about carrying extra lower rods when out detecting.. I didn't think of that, but now I will have an extra lower rod on my detecting outings.
Glad I didn't have any problems when I visited your turf back in October as I had extra parts except for the lower rod and I would have been out of business.
Thanks,
Felix

The stock Sovereign lower rod asm usually works great.I used a WOT coil and snapped mine but never had any problems before using this larger coil.By the way I usually glue on the bottom attachment(clovis) this is more solid and gives less flex. The broken lower rod did ruin my hunt that day.
