There is no difference i owned them all from .....the first in 1992.... right up to the ....last the GT... the first one and the last one the GT you could turn the iron mask on or off.. Otherwise than that no difference on some they put on some extra switches that did not make any difference in the operation of the Sovereign......And on the iron mask i never turn it off any how..... And to me the Sovereign is the best detector that minelab has made. The Explorer series and E Trac are not any better than the Sovereign . They are not any deeper than the Sovereign except in the Explorers and E Trac owners minds & dreams.... But they do have a lot of bells & whistles that you pay extra for that you really don't need...... But all those extras do make one feel important .

Thanks Keppy, , mainly I use explorer in all metal mode how I understand switch on-off iron mask on sovereign is the same like all metal mode on explorer- you hear all metal under coil? if so its very important to have it and only sovereigns xs and gd worth to look for? or I something miss understud. thanks Stasys

I think there evoliution was ...1991 = First Sovereign ... 1994 = Sovereign XS ... 1998 = Sovereign XS-2 ... 2000 =XS 2A Pro ... 2002 = Sovereign Elite ...And now.. GT ............... I don't think i left any out.. And on my Sovereigns i never hunted in the all metal mode and always hunted with Iron Mask on..
