It could be oriental... But, I'll tell you it was found pretty close to the U.S/ Mexican border... I'm thinking maybe Spanish/ Mexican in origin...

It really does seem old.. I just have no idea hah... Perhaps some sort of tool or part of an ornament of some sort. The ornamental pattern makes me think it was once part of something nice...

A lot stuff from the late 1800s seems to be very fancy with designs like this. Its one of the ways I can tell Im on an old site. Always cool to find stuff like this.

Thanks Goldfinger.. Thats seems like a fairly good guess, the shape seems possible... But I found it farther away from the town I was nearby...Trying to figure how it would end up out in the middle of nowhere... who knows haha.

Is it actually threaded or is that just an ornamental feature?

I'm thinking that it was from a handle of some sorts, pot/server handle.

Me, too! Maybe even a mirror handle .. but a handle of some sort.

Looking at it more closely, I really thought that it threaded down but honestly... i think they even layered lines.. just seems to be part of the design...as far as I can tell. There is a small hole on the top where the lines are.
