Hey all. I just ordered a Fisher F2 and I am hoping I can find a few pennies here and there. I am just now beginning to think about metal detecting on a larger scale than when I used to walk around my house with a detector when I was younger and finding nails.

Here is my first question... I fish along the Ohio River quite often. There is a certain town I go to that used to have a boat ramp that was used to ferry people across the water. I was looking for hooks and sinkers when I happened to see something shining along the edge of the water. It was a 1917 Standing Liberty quarter. About five feet from this I saw another coin. It was a 40's era wheat penny. Stupid question but would this be a good place to start looking with my F2?

I was out looking for arrowheads along the river one day and I actually found a Buffalo Nickel on one of the sites. An old house used to stand there. This is about 9 miles from the ferry site though.
