I dug a circa 1917 deposit token today. It is fairly beat. I did some googling but could not find another or any info on that particular bank. It measures 1.25" across
Has anyone seen one like this?
Dot--Google has quite a bit of info on the South Side State Bank. Put it in quotes and then check Books. These bank tokens were popular in the era - they were given away to entice new customers to start an account in the bank. Sometimes they were used in conjunction with a little metal bank for which the bank held the key. Not especially valuable, but fun little items, nonetheless.
