Had a great time working the SF American yesterday with ALewis. I panned and sampled until noon and then dropped the Bazooka in and ran it until the river surged at 1:30 which caught us by surprise as it was an hour and a half early. I dove/tripped over rock and splattered the water in an attempt to grab Lewis's fluid bed which was starting to float and donated my glasses to the rest of the collection in the river. ALewis thanks for a great day. Hope you got a lot. I think you probably did well as many buckets as you moved.

Was a good time for sure...Thanks for coming out & showing me around ! I still cannot believe that water surge !!!
For everyone else, I was panning, and maybe 30 seconds after mojo say's the waters rising my sluice is beginning to break loose ! It was wedged in well too ! Sluice went completely submerged it in no time ! I still had to move my stuff 2-3 times to keep it from floating away, water just kept risin.....what is it, maybe 2-3 foot increase ?
Anyway, great Spot, great time....sorry about the glasses too, especially as it was in the name of my sluice ! Guess we'll have to hit it big next time to offset that !

Oh, and that IS some pretty nice color....Pretty sure I did good, but not sure I did as well as that ! Very nice work

That river surges like crazy! Mojo knows it better than Most. :)

Glad you guys had fun

During the summer there seems to be no major release from Chili bar dam on tues and weds. On the south fork American.

Ya they flatline it on those days at about 175cfs. As the lake is down around 405ft now the cobble bar and the boulder have reemerged. Waiting for further drops.

Got some decent little chunks.....:headbang: <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1027505"/> <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1027504"/> <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1027503"/>
Great pan

AL That's some nice looking gold. Maybe this weekend you will get even more.
