South Florida Locations

A doctor in the 1960s went down into lake okeechobee in his plane with a million dollars in cash on board. He was running away from his wife. He was never found, nor the money.

I grew up there (60s-70s). Used to do a lot of fishing with my dad along the canal by the railroad tracks next to Bee Line Highway which I think is highway 710. We used to find some stainless flatware and cooking containers along the railroad tracks. My dad thought they might have gotten thrown out with the dish water. Anyway, there used to be an old road that went off to the left (as you were heading out of Palm Beach county) that he said lead to an old army camp. I don't know what's there now. Back then there was nothing out that way except the Pratt-Whitney plant. I'm sure that area must be full of housing developments by now.
