This Scovill button was found at a Civil War hospital site. And suggestions on date? 1830s or 1840s?

Button depicts the seal of South Carolina, a palmetto tree over an oak log, symbolic of the Revolutionary War victory at Sullivans Island.This is flat two part button, manufacture 1830's.
