I bought this item at a garage sale, all I was told is that it was bought in Argentina...I need help fing out what it is, what kind of stone and if it is an ancient item.. The first and third images are our item, the middle one is an image of one that is being displayed at an Arizona Museum. The size is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and 1 1/2 inch thick. Stone weighs about 3 lbs. light green and marbled white and smooth. IMG_20180613_121125.jpg IMG_20180617_115128.jpg

I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard GeorgeB! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) so if you ask a question, etc. - people may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

Welcome to T-Net Georgeb!

It reminds me of a talking statue "Olmec" from an old Nickelodeon TV show "Legends of the Hidden Temple". It was a head only, 8 feet tall, talking prop.
Sorry, but I had to bring it up.

Very interesting piece! :icon_thumleft:

Welcome to the forum! :occasion14:

Yes and interesting piece! The piece appears more Colombian to me in origin and appears that it may have been carved out of Onyx.
