Detector(s) used
Anfibio Multi - T2 Classic - F75+ - G2+....and MANY more tested and reviewed.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Hit up a yard sale yesterday evening and scored a Lone Star Pro for $30...and a Sharpshooter 2 for $20. Both unopened and in the box. Needless to say I was thrilled until the guy told me they were gifts for his son who left for the military earlier than expected. I felt like crap then...but the son told the dad to sell them to somebody that will be able to use them...and I am that person!

Both boxes had tags still on it....SS2 for $299....LSP for $199.....ouch. The Sharpshooter 2 came with an accessory package that included the BH Pointer....a small steel digger....finds pouch....duffle style carry bag. The digger and pointer and both are laughable....but the bags are actually pretty decent.

Air tested both units within 30 minutes of having them together.

Both units showed absolutely zero change in results in air tests from AM to full disc to notch. :icon_scratch: The LSP is 100% on mark with ID up to 6.5 inches then starts to waiver. The sharpshooter 2 in dead on .5 less at 6 inches before starting to random off a bit.

Here are my AIR results for the Lone Star Pro....

Clad Dime = 8.5in
Zinc and Copper Penny = 8.5in
Clad Nickel and Quarter = 8.5in
Silver Quarter = 8.5in

Here are my AIR results for the Sharpshooter 2....(1-1.5in less than LSP)

Clad Dime = 7in
Zinc and Copper Penny = 7.5-8in
Clad Nickel and Quarter = 7.5-8in
Silver Quarter = 7.5-8in

Wife and I are super happy for $50. :laughing7::laughing7: I will probably just hold off on the LRP for now. Perhaps tax season will be kind and I'll skip right over to my dream F19. Took some pics and will be posting up some air test videos within 24 hours...would hate anybody to think I was full of poop. Wife and I will be heading to the park tomorrow to give them real-world tests on both. I'll post videos of that as well to anybody interested.

Awesome finds. Treasure is where you find it. GL & HH

Hope you got a mailing address for him as he could live a little thru your finds. I know he would enjoy seeing that a serious THer got to put them to good use.

Absolutely. Anybody can hit it if they are in the right spot.

This is an incredible find. What generosity of the seller, Congrats on the find!

I must have thanked the guy 100X. I actually asked him why so low and he simply said he would never use them.

Great idea man. I did not get the address but the guys house is near and unmistakable.

Wow. Somebody up there likes you, GT. That's is a great deal at even twice the price.

The SSII is a good little unit. And the different coils are inexpensive if you go that route. A great chance for you and wife to have some serious fun while you learn the units. A friend of mine that has many high end detectors says he enjoys the heck out of his LSP. He bought it for his son, and finds himself using it as well because it's easy, fun and performs admirably.

I was pretty stoked seeing that sticker for $30 on the LSP. Saw what it was right away and my mind immediately went to the videos on Youtube we were talking about in the other thread. When he told me that it was never used and that I could look if I wanted, I took his word and just handed him the $30 faster than I have ever handed cash over to anybody.

Saw the SS2 behind it but did not know anything about it. Remember the "muffler on a stick" comment you and others had made and was skeptical even for $20. When he said it was unused as well and that all the accessories were there and never opened I said the hell with it and gave him the $20 for it. Figured my sons Gold Digger is pretty cool why not this? Not disappointed so far...even if they are just "air tests"....I like them. Read just about the first 4-5 pages of links Google gave me for it in the last 24 hours.

Both of us cant wait to get out to the parks tomorrow for our first digs with them. All we have been talking about since yesterday. Gonna play with our new toys like they are new toys.
