Hit up a yard sale yesterday evening and scored a Lone Star Pro for $30...and a Sharpshooter 2 for $20. Both unopened and in the box. Needless to say I was thrilled until the guy told me they were gifts for his son who left for the military earlier than expected. I felt like crap then...but the son told the dad to sell them to somebody that will be able to use them...and I am that person!
Both boxes had tags still on it....SS2 for $299....LSP for $199.....ouch. The Sharpshooter 2 came with an accessory package that included the BH Pointer....a small steel digger....finds pouch....duffle style carry bag. The digger and pointer and both are laughable....but the bags are actually pretty decent.
Air tested both units within 30 minutes of having them together.
Both units showed absolutely zero change in results in air tests from AM to full disc to notch. The LSP is 100% on mark with ID up to 6.5 inches then starts to waiver. The sharpshooter 2 in dead on .5 less at 6 inches before starting to random off a bit.
Here are my AIR results for the Lone Star Pro....
Clad Dime = 8.5in
Zinc and Copper Penny = 8.5in
Clad Nickel and Quarter = 8.5in
Silver Quarter = 8.5in
Here are my AIR results for the Sharpshooter 2....(1-1.5in less than LSP)
Clad Dime = 7in
Zinc and Copper Penny = 7.5-8in
Clad Nickel and Quarter = 7.5-8in
Silver Quarter = 7.5-8in
Wife and I are super happy for $50. I will probably just hold off on the LRP for now. Perhaps tax season will be kind and I'll skip right over to my dream F19. Took some pics and will be posting up some air test videos within 24 hours...would hate anybody to think I was full of poop. Wife and I will be heading to the park tomorrow to give them real-world tests on both. I'll post videos of that as well to anybody interested.
