My son found this on our family walk this am. He knows to keep his eyes peeled. I'll cherish his excitement, he is one enthusiastic boy, age 8! All on his own, no one else was even looking for points. We both shared a proud moment! Life is good. We found the shaker later in the day, it's a nice one! I always have trouble matching points up. This one is rounder and flatter than the points we usually find! HH

I'm sure that your son will always remember this, his first find. Well done! :icon_thumright: Looks like it was reworked, maybe used as a blunt to stun smaller game like rabbits.

Congrats to your son! It's an awesome find. Pat on the back to you as well for raising a cool kid:)

Thanks, we enjoyed reading the replies. It is quartz and very thin, it does look reworked:) I'm sure he will find some beauties in his life, but the first one is so memorable!! HH

Great first point. I found my first one about 45 years ago, and I remember it like it was yesterday.

Just guessing due to the damage but almost looks like a Thebes to me. Missing tip and the base probably was longer on both sides of the stem bottom. Tell him congrats on it from me.

That is a beautiful point. I hope he doesn't carry it to school to show off and it get broken.

Thanks again for the posts, he will sure enjoy reading them in the am:) He has such a bright spirit! Thanks for the info on the Thebes, it will be fun to check into that. into that! It will be in a frame soon:) Cliff and Eli

That's great!! Take'm when they're young, They'll take you when you're old. Tony
