I know the answer to this one is almost certainly, "that's just a somewhat interestingly shaped pieced of aluminum junk," but I thought I'd give this team of sleuths a shot.

Found this in an area where I've found a lot of aluminum slag, although almost all of that slag looks as though it's from cans being tossed in a fire, and it's pretty dense/heavy. This piece is very light. It is soft enough at the sharp point that I can twist a little bit of the metal by hand. I did find it near a homesite that stood from about 1900-1970. The land has remained wooded/vacant since.

The shape and weight just strike me as odd for a piece of random junk aluminum.

Excuse the dirty fingernails, although I expect a number of y'all might suffer from the same condition.

maybe a tin solder or something?

Looks like a cool bit of solder that dropped between some sheet steel that has rusted away leaving just the solder.

Yeah, I think you're probably real close. It certainly has the weight/softness of solder. I think I'm marking it solved. Thanks!
