I pulled up to a site I had been on previously. I got out to check my tire because I had caught a screw in it a few days prior and wanted to make sure the patch was holding. I saw a black circle on the ground almost under my tire. I thought it was probably plastic until I bent down, put my glasses on, and picked it up. To my surprise, it was an 1876 Seated Quarter! My first Seated Quarter! It is in surprisingly good shape considering that dirt road gets moderate use. I can’t believe I didn’t drive over it. Thanks for viewing.

Are you the only person who hunts there? Possible someone dug it and it fell out of there pouch as the were loading up their stuff to leave. Otherwise, I agree…..hard to understand how’s it’s there and not destroyed by tires.

Yes, I’m the only one. It’s amazing the grader didn’t scuff it up. I guess it was just meant to be.

EXCELLENT! We detectorists may not notice our wife's haircut - but we can spot a manmade object in the dirt:icon_thumright:

Before i got hooked on Metal Detecting I hardly ever looked at the ground when walking. Since i got really into it I find money all the time just walking without a detector in my hand

Wow, and a CC mint mark, both the CC mint mark and seated coins are scarce as hen's teeth here in my area.
