My grandma is downsizing considerably and I’ve been helping sort boxes, this was in a small box of coins. At first I thought maybe it was a souvenir token from a football game, i was way off. I now know it’s civil war but not much beyond that, I thought I’d share and see if anyone could contribute some more info

Yankee war token, issued by business’s due to lack of hard currency, as all the greedy Yankees were hoarding their coins

Haha I’d never seen one before looks like there’s a lot of them out there

Cool token! Not real rare, but still really neat!

Nice Patriotic Token Find.

It looks to be in nice shape , I know there were 100's of types , + 'Store Cards ' & Sutlers tokens.

I have only dug a couple & bought many.

Yours is a nice one , My memory is going ; but I do recall many having Dates on them mostly 1863 & 1864. IM Observation .

Here's a link to some more information on your token;

Great link fyrffytr1.

Tho I have a Token etc, Book I think it's by the well known coin / Numismatic experts .

FWIW,
Matching these coins /tokens with front / reverse die pairs is real FUN! Especially while trying to figure out a grade & retail price.

I love tokens that's a really cool piece of history. Nice score my friend. Tommy
