something from the rr tracks

we aere walking the tracks today and we came across this brick, i only took a pic of it because it is large and weighs around 20 lbs and was were already exhausted, any one know the idea or date of this thing, im maybe thinking fire brick, dunno tho
ps the tings that looked like screws were not, they are carved in the stone, the words are american arch co, and security

I forget what they're called but when masons lay a sidewalk or driveway etc. sometimes they leave a stone marked with their company's name on it, a regular cement stone they've stamped with their logo etc. That's the first thing I thought of.
