Hey TN Friends,
Hope all have been well, productive and lucky out there. I haven't been out much at all this year...a comparable replay of the empty activity I experienced in 2011. But, I made it out which was nice, although nothing great to report besides. It's times like these that I'm apparently out there doing one thing and thinking about all sorts of others...and then occasionally get distracted by something of interest at the bottom of a hole covered in dirt. You know, I am sure.
During my uneventful park safari I found two unopened beverages. For me? From who? Thank you...whoever. Should I drink them? Ohhh woe...my postings must really be symptomatic and a literary irritant for you TN folks.
I think, that is...AFTER the calculator, the rock was my favorite find. No...it's not pretty, at all...but I think I might put it in the old sling and sail it across the river for fun. I picked it up, as I did the beverages, to do my part to keep the park clean and free of potentially dangerous lawnmower ballistics. And...I just prevented a can slaw epidemic. So many good things came out of this.
Continuing...(suffer)...that calculator. That's the 'learning' aspect the title of this thread refers to. Funny that! First one I ever found. I am sure that after the warm bath I gave it and a new set of batteries it'll be back in service like new. I'll be able again to balance my checkbook while on my unicycle, contemplating theories of gyroscopic movements. Of course, if it doesn't work...I'll probably say something stupid and puny like, "that figures!"
Onward > > > I learned that, and I might have figured...(don't start)...as people DO collect everything, from saintly-imaged pieces of toast to boot tips from famous cowboys, a site DOES exist for calculators aptly titled; 'Calcuseum'. So, if you're into calculanumia(if that's a term?) then that is your site. This specimen I found appears to be from 1983 or 1978-79 from another unrelated source.
The 1958-D wheat and buckle remnant. I can't think of anything unnecessarily lengthy and wordy to say here.
I hope you enjoy the fungus and snail pics I included from during my naturalist excursion. If only I would take a better camera.
This thread ends here, now. Don't mention it.
