Something for a necklace or bracelet

Found this today in the swamps and was wondering if anyone has ever seen anything like this. to me it looks like a sword handle or the top of a cross. it is sterling silver and the gem is fake. I know it is cheap made but I would just like to know what it is suppose to be.
