I found this in Pine Cove Park near Idyllwild, California. It was down about 4" between two very large boulders, which were separated from each other by about 20", so I'm guessing it's been there a while.

It is definitely a pendant of some type, and my first thought was that it was worn by an east Indian girl but I could be wrong. The pendant appears to be hand made mostly out of brass or copper, and measures 4 1/2 inches high. It certainly was made to jingle!

No markings or dates or lettering of any kind, front or back.

Any ideas?

Could be a decoration on a horse or wagon. Almost gypsy like!

Good luck!...Nice find........HH

It looks very American "flapper" era to me. I don't know how crowded that area gets in summer now but prior to the advent of air conditioning large groups of families (sans working husbands) would move to that area from desert regions to escape the summer.
so there was plenty of opportunity of it being lost.
