Hi, I can't tell from the photo. Can you back away from the item and take another pic. Quartz is always a popular choice.

You might have better luck at getting identification of the type of rock/mineral you found by posting it over in TreasureNet's "Rocks/Gems" forum.

Looks like a nice specimen of quartz that has been water worn by tumbling in a stream. Really nice piece, I doesn't look like the interior part is too fractured.

With that flat polished side on it...
I'm thinking a river tumbled piece of glass.

Except I already did tests on it to make sure it wasn't glass
