Just out of curiosity why would you recommend a site where he can get "caught??"

I don't get up that way very much, but there has to be some good places along the river. Check out any areas of state land up there along the levees. you might find some good spots.
 

Erik why ask a question you already know. Hes one of the people who do what they want when they want on private property and ruin it for everyone else, which is why I can't stand the tv shows.. Rather than go to the Library and putting in 20 hours of research a week he is one that would rather have things handed to him by taking them.... I do not agree or condone people hunting property they shouldn't be on, especially when I spend so much of my time researching trying to find good sites and knocking on doors, when you got these few running around spreading their thieving mentality to the new guys... Its like a plague.. This is a hobby that suppose to have meaning but as a person you should have some kind of honor or maybe that is just the Marine Corps in me... Why these guys these FEW guys decide to take it upon themselves to destroy all of our reputations is beyond my grasp!! I was simply asking a question, not speaking out of line and offending people on this site..I do not trespass and I always knock on doors. I believe your trolling should be reported. As by the size of your comment, you really went out of your way to put another person down. That's sad
 

Oh yea. Throwing the whole marine corp quote around as well, disrespects the corp when you use it that way, also I'm a 3 time OiF vet twice wounded and disabled, so have some respect jar face. Or were you stuck on a tin can in the middle of the ocean?
 

Man people what I said was taken way out of content. No person in their right mind would go on a state park to hunt artifacts. To coinhound1983 I'm sorry if my comment has caused you any heat, but some of these folks can't wait to jump on something in a negative way.:censored:

My question wasn't directed towards you, but to the poster to said "Port Hudson is good--just don't get caught." It seems that he might have been joking though it's hard to tell by the context (no smileys etc.), but even so it's not a good idea to even joke like this on a public forum as people will quote you out of context in the press etc. and use this against us.

Petrie502 is a good guy and not a troll here, but a valued member of the forum. I don't think his comments were directed at you either, but that the post that said you can detect Port Hudson if you don't get caught. This thread really has nothing to do with finds anway so it should probably be removed my the mods. I hope you find a place to detect and it looks like someone is willing to take you to a legit site.
 

actually if you look at my profile youll see I was Marine corps force recon a 2 time purple heart veteran with 3 different O3 moss's 0341, 0311, 0381... I was wounded and almost killed and have a fake right hip my third tour in afganistan, in 2004 now I am 100% medically retired which is why I got into this hobby... And absolutely I went out of my way to put him down because if he respected himself he wouldn't be telling people to do the wrong thing especially when people like me are fighting their citys BRAND NEW ordances on parks because of the very crap hes telling people to do... and again SEMPER FI

And we weren't even speaking to you we were talking to monsterrack, I am very much going to say something to anyone telling others to do the wrong thing, because I spend 10 hours a week at city council meetings trying to get this ordanance reversed that shouldn't be here to begin with but because of people doing the wrong things that's where a lot of us are

Once again, excuse me my brother. It sounded to me like I was being attacked. I got into this hobby as well because I can't work officially anymore and I'm a self made history fanatic. Much apologies and wish you the best..
 

Not a problem...There are actually a lot of us that have gotten into this hobby because of that reason, but it burns me up when those 1 or 2 % tell others to do things they shouldn't. No doubt it doesn't affect them but once someone realizes whats going on they make new laws and we all suffer... Apology accepted... I look at it like this I got my ass shot off to own 432 weapons and to metal detect and I don't want some dude watching diggers on NAT GEO and running out and buying a bounty hunter and shovel & pick screwing it up for me. Because at the end of the day that guy is probably gonna last a month and sell his equipment.. Didn't mean to attack your thread though... Hope you found a good site!!
