I had about an hour to hunt the park this evening. This, a penny, and a .22 bullet minus the casing was about it. I thought this was a bullet until I cleaned it. It's heavy, non magnetic, but doesn't scratch easily like lead. Any ideas?
It may be a target round. I learned this by buying them in desperation for hunting bullfrogs. The rounds are solid and made of a much harder metal. The rounds would not kill a frog most of the time and are only used for range shooting.
I took my caliper out and measured the bullet on the screen and the base of Lincoln's body and its a .45 cal 200 grain Semi-Wadcutter bullet.
i use my drill press and a jig and turn these into Redneck 180 grain hollow point Semi-Wadcutter bullets
Not all bullets are pure lead most are alloys and cast lead bullets for .45s are normally hard lead alloys,
These are mostly for people that reload there own ammo.
Semi wadcutter. Wadcutters are flat all the way across the front. They are a target bullet, and I've bought both types loaded in .357 magnum, plus hand loaded a bunch over the years.
