This ebay auction is listed under Pre-1600 Native American Artifacts, and represented as authentic...even with the "This was legally obtained from my family. Was not found on federal - state or public land" disclaimer.

It is also called "one of a kind" and "museum quality".

It has a story of a great-grandfather finding it while digging a hole...and passing it down through the years....

It says "You will not find anything on ebay like this again"

Well....that's true....this one is in much better condition...but.....

Native American Indian Chief Bust Sculpture Ceramic Pottery Statue | eBay

At the time I am posting this...the junk one is at $100.05 with $125.00 shipping showing to me....and I'm local!

It is a common ceramic bust from the 60's-70's....often used in school ceramic classes...my cousin made one in class back in the 70's....

The point is....someone is about to get hosed for at least $225.00 (at this point) for a ruined ceramic bust!

LOL, I agree Jon. I'm over in St. Pete. One day we'll have to hit the tomato fields, with permission of course boom.

report them and have it flagged....email the seller and tell him you are on to him....email his bidders to tell them to back out...I have done all these before....it is very satisfying to expose these bums.

I don't think you can email bidders anymore...and the seller probably doesn't care. Ebay may or may not do anything in time...

Well the final tally was: $518.65 + $125.00 shipping = $643.00 paid by some poor sucker who didn't bother to do a quick search and find three more for sale on Ebay in perfect condition, and not misrepresented as "pre-1600 Native American Artifacts"!!

The seller ignored all attempts to set them straight, evidenced by the chopped-up English response in the Q&A section: "ALL THE E-MAILS AND QUESTIONS OVER THE THE TOP, THIS SOULD NOT EVEN BE ON E-BAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It is also evident that the seller intended to defraud the buyers by the claim that "Two estimates from local professionals saying that this bust either predates Columbus or 100 years after"

No amateur would even make a statement like that...let alone two of them!

The tribe attributed to it is "Seminole"....you know...those pre-Columbian Seminoles that had a time machine and went back to pre-1600 Florida to make a plaster cast of an Indian chief that would set on their mantle, then buried it for this scammer's great grandfather to dig up!

It should be interesting to see what feedback the buyer leaves this clown....THEN the buyer can be contacted....

Here are two more of the same casting....

This looks like a big piece of Florida petrified wood.
The people bidding might even know that.

It looks like it was the same 3 bidders though. It's a shame the winning bidder is going to learn such an expensive lesson.
