Somebody has tested ferrite beads?

Hello, i'm newbie here:

just asking for some feedback if somebody has tested ferrite beads in the coil wire.

is well known these components can cancell some noise on noth lines (Data, Power), as so common in consumer electronics cables, but how do i affect the general scene (coil power, frecuency, performance... etc) if i use them with my MD coil wire?

I've used them before. Yes they can rid some RFI.

We have a Aerostat Radar a few miles south of town.

It helped with that source.

thanks by reply, but what was improved in MD? , it helps to eliminate false detections? , random noise?.
 

I was getting a blip every 40 seconds. That was the rotation of the Radar.

If it was stopping that I'm sure it was ridding other noise problems.
 

Usually the noise you hear is because most coil cables dont use shielding. That is a weak spot in most detectors. Shielding stops crosstalk and alien crosstalk. Many powerful detectors will have shielding especially PI detectors. Having the coil cable straight along the shaft helps, and also helps with depth, the coil doesnt have to ground balance out all that wire wrapped around the shaft. I am not sure who started wrapping loose wire around the shaft, but it is a bad habit. That will also cause crosstalk. Have the coil wire straight, and tape it to the shaft, and the excess can be coiled up high. Too much coil wire is a problem also. If it was shielded, it could be coiled up with no problems.
