I'm including finds from the day as well as they aren't worth making a separate post. The things I know what they are are the broken buckle, the older facet valve, a really damaged door locking mechanism older because the key slot isn't a modern one, the big cast iron thing I have a vague idea of what it is probably a stove part or furnace park I'll knock the rust off with a hammer and see what's under it. The rest I have no idea really curious what the shell thing came off of. 20210424_093823.webp20210424_093842.webp20210424_093854.webp20210424_094307.webp20210424_094751.webp20210424_094454.webp20210424_094458.webp20210424_094318.webp20210424_094340.webp20210424_094351.webp20210424_094414.webp20210424_094440.webp

Bottom pic looks like a lipstick tube. I have found similar with color still inside.

Determined but finding hours upon hours of trash and fighting anxiety to ask permission. I've earned a few that are come as I please but one of the older homes I hunt around here I have to ask permission everytime I go and I get worried I'm bothering them or at least my anxiety mind tells me so and I've been afraid to ask permission to hunt the grass in front of the home. The house is from 1902 never been metal detected so I'm itching to check the grass but so uncomfortable with asking.

You sure it's a soup dish. To me it looks like a part of something seems to bulky but I could be wrong

Why not ask the owner if he'd like to help you discover what's in his front lawn. And had him the shovel.

Well there is a slight problem. I only speak English and they only speak Spanish so makes things slightly more awkward and the owner doesn't seem the type to have any interest in all that.

Cool finds. The Scollop Shell is used in quite a few decorative items. I found these cast iron wall hooks that are similar or maybe from a fireplace andirons.

Nice selection on relics. Photo #9/10 could either be from a barrel tap or a very early faucet/valve shut off.
Liking the Scallop design item.
Looks like your recovering the homesite items, now you just need a coin or two to make the site even better.

Great finds! Have a friend that speaks Spanish write a note to the owner asking permission to hunt where you want to there. A bilingual T Netter here may post a translation here. Good luck.

if you find the other two you’ll never have to stand in line at Costco again when there’s a shortage.

That scallop shell looks like the Shell Oil Company shell. They made license plate toppers in the late 30's that it could be a part of. I think they also had other similar looking emblems made of different metals. Google Shell Oil Co. license plate toppers.
