I found this wind up boat in a collection of vintage and antique toy tractors given to me by a family member.
There are no markings I can find except "made in germany" written on the bottom.

I can offer no help on it, but I really do like it, like it a lot.

It is very cool, I like it a lot too, but it has no place in my collection. That being said, once I can identify it, it will be up for sale.

The three or four large tin toy manufactureres in Germany were:

Wiking, Bing, Märklin and Fleischmann.

Tin toy is in German Blechspielzeug.

Try a google pic search with Blechspielzeug + Boot +(above names), see if you find something, but I feel this could take very long.....

That thing is awesome!

Possibly George Carette Ocean Liner circa 1915.

Yeah. What's up with that?

BTW, nice ID and link DCMatt.

I put it up on eBay because I was told it was made by Carette. But then I was told it may not be that one and could be a handful of others, so I came here for help!

From the Carette 1915 catalog:

The top one is pretty close. I'd be confident it is a Carette. He was out-of-business by the out-break of WWI.

Thank you! Yes I agree it is a super cool piece. I am hoping I can find the right collector that can benefit the most from this piece as it does not go with my collection.
