Notice the IH logo is inside a large C...Would it be from CASE IH that was formed in 1984 according to wiki,?If so maybe off modern hay machine?...Is there hay fields where it was found?
Is the big end cup shaped on the bottom? If so, I think it is part of the clamp for the ball on the sickle bar of an International Harvester sickle mower.
Thanks for the info flinthunter...yes it is cup shaped on opposite side of the inscription..plus where the bolt holes on that side have diamond ridges which now explains it was bolted to wood..lots of old horse drawn sickles laying around ranches in this part of the country....
The IH logo stands for International Harvester Corporation.
This logo was widely used before WWII, but was used on some post war IHC items. I believe that the postwar wheel weights for the Farmall letter series (A-C-H-M) tractors still used the IHC circle logo, even though the logo had officially changed.
