Metal Detecting
Found this on a curb strip by Skidmore College. It is quite heavy and appears to be made out of lead. The diameter is about an inch. It could be a flattened bullet but I truly have no idea. The front has a small hole embedded in it. The back has no identifiable marks. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,
Jack

Okay, since only one other person has answeed about your find, I'll give it a shot. (Pun intended.)

For over 40 years, I've been metal-detecting for civil war battlefield relics, and I've dug up literally thousands of civil war era and 20th-Century bullets. To my eyes, your find appears to be a 20th-Century fired lead bullet which "mushroomed" when it head-on impacted a more-or-less-flat solid object.

Now that I look at it again, it sure does.......!
