Have not posted in some time, but I have a stumper here. A number of items were given to museum. This was in the lot. I will not say what the donor said it was. I have some doubt as to the label he put on it. What is your opinion? It is about eight inches long, to give you an idea of size. Cast iron. Four screw mountings. No other marks other than the <diamond M.>

It's a cork press, used to soften &/or taper corks. Here's a fancy figural one...
