some tractor finds including russy's pelican lake heartbreaker

good thing the tractor needed some diesel fuel this morning
when i walked around the front to put a can of fuel in there lays a neat little prairie side notch point made from some nice KRF only about 10 feet from the strawberry patch
next i look at a little spot before i turn it over and here stands russy with this pelican lake heartbreaker
so i went and got him a kleenex (so he could wipe his crying eyes) and came back to find this little fragment with some etching on it laying right where we were standing, i think it is part of a broke that i found years ago
last is a piece of buffalo rib that was cut with a flint knife for some reason, russy is always willing to share
you know, when you have a good friend who will always help you with your chores, then you have a good friend like russy

I like the pic of the side notch ...a very pretty point!

The high quality material gives it a glowing appearance as it lays there in the dirt.

Nice looking finds Steve. Do you that incised Bone might be part of a Game Piece?

Also, in the in situ picture of the incised Bone is that a small Triangle Point just to the upper left of it in the shadow of the dirt clod? It sure looks like one.

Re: some tractor finds including russy's pelican lake heartbreaker

I saw that triangle shaped pice in the shadow of the dirt clod too amd wondered what it was maybe Steve will get on here and ID it for us. I am always just to look at his dirt pic's.

Man you are living the dream... drive tractor around, find arrowheads, and pick strawberries. Life just doesn't get any better than that!

Re: some tractor finds including russy's pelican lake heartbreaker

I don't think I'd be much good at driving the tractor and looking at the ground :o ??? :dontknow:

Re: some tractor finds including russy's pelican lake heartbreaker

Here's one I found this spring from the tractor. It's broken but huge.

That is a pretty good size piece. It is kinda hard to tell from the photo. Is that the left side of a base on it or just the way it broke ?

Re: some tractor finds including russy's pelican lake heartbreaker

It's seems to be broken there too but it's hard to tell even when holding it in your hand. Even so everyone I've showed this to is impressed by the size.
