Detector(s) used
duh...duh... DFX
I haven't been posting finds in a while, infact, since before the DFXonly club hunt (I still need to post those finds...some cool old relics) but Mirage told me I should post the (I thought) 1921 Merc I found so I thought why not?
Other things have been taking my time up from detecting every day but I still have been out some. In my own backyard I dug a Merc stuck to a wheatie. I literally had to pry them apart with a jewelers screwdriver they were stuck so hard. I thought it was a 1921 and when I started to clean it this morning to take a pic it turns out to be a 1926...oh well...still a Merc and still silver. Some of the green corrosion won't come off still, so since it's not a key date I'll try polish tonight.
Also shown is a 1907 IH I found last week with Mirage and Nate at the "Lincoln House" (see Bob's post about his "cold call")
This is the FIRST IH cent I have dug that is NOT a corroded mess so I'm real happy to get one with great detail (full Liberty and partial diamonds)
1907 was a common date but still...Nate helped clean it w/ Amonia/oil and it turned out great.
The musketballs and thimbles were found at another "new" spot of mine that has TONS of history but it's RIGHT SMACK in the middle of a major suburb so I gotta keep it quiet for now. I even pulled a horseshoe right exactly from where a 1860 map shows a blacksmith's shop was. The area is now wooded and surrounded by houses.

Some stuff....??? Looks like you found more than just some stuff.
That's one nice looking IH.
WTG!

Nice to see you are back from your posting sabbatical. ;) Good deal but where's the V-Nickel?

Yeah, that IH is a nice one. Gotta love when they come out like that.

Too bad that wasn't a 1921. That would be worth some $$. Kinda like the 19_2 wheat penny I was hoping would be a $400 1922. Turned out to be a 1912. ::) Better luck for both of us next time.

Thanks Bull....like I said, ALL the IHs I have dug up to now have barely looked recognizable as an IH compared to this one.
Here a better look at the Liberty on the headband

Maybe I'll post it after lunch...it's in the car with another IH (both the V and IH found at an old camp that was built as a muster camp for CW training-and I'm hunting there tonight after work with my son)

Danimal,

Nice finds. Good to see you posting again, too. Always fun to see what you've dug up.

Nick loves Mercs, but MP loves IH's. That one is a beaut, nice color and great detail. Still haven't dug either of them, but I'm still hoping.

Good luck tonight on the hunt with your son. Can't seem to get either of my kids interested....they're more inclined to ask me to hunt in the deep woods so none of their friends see me!

Nice finds, Dan! Real nice IH.

Always enjoy your posts.

LOL...That sounds familiar!

Good to see a post from you. The injun is outstanding. BTW, thanks for the help setting up the ACE, all issues under control and in check. Bongo

Nice finds Dan,

The indian does look really good. I'd clean up the merc also. Looks like it will polish out.

Dan,
Welcome back. I was starting to think those guys locked you in a privy somewhere and took your coins. ;D
Great looking IH.
Congrats,

Nice going Dan!
