Do they open? Although it is a little hard to tell by the photos but the round one looks like it may unscrew in the middle.

No , they don't open . They feel solid ( not hollow)

Could be a watch fob, but where does the watch chain attach? Did you dig this or run into it somewhere? It seems somewhat femine for a pot bellied double handlebar moustacioed victorian. Just saying.
