Hello All,

I know that they're latches of some sort. Dug in a 1790-1860 era site. Just curious if anyone could come up with an example of what they came off of. I have a hunch they date to the last part of that date range, as I've found identical ones in a CW era site before. I guess I've probably dug 4-5 of them in 30 years in the hobby. FYI they are cast brass.

My wife's curio cabinet has a latch like that. It's on the inside and keeps the door on the left latched from behind. It lays flat on one of the shelves and is held by a screw. Gary
