What do they normally go for anyway? I guess the number will increase dramatically before the bidding time is over.

Excellent point! Maybe I should invest in a case or two!

I was going to start flipping detectors a few years back, but I didn't because there would be too many complaints about the import costs. The numbers would have been ok for me. Now it seems like there's even more demand then before.

Now up to 217.00!

You have to love it when people will pay $40 off the store cost. I guess no one is doing their homework, they're bidding just to win :laughing9:

Like Iron Patch said, it may be priced differently in the European market.

In order to flip detectors you really have to sell it for a lot more than you buy it. I sold a Beach Hunter ID for $633, shipped. I only paid $500 for it, but after fees and postage I netted about $60 from the sale. Hardly worth the effort.

Gotta hand it to ebaY. They convince high bidders: "You've Won!"

It could as well say: "You've agreed to pay more than anyone else in the world who was aware of this sale!"

As said, do your homework. I've seen used r/c airplane engines sell more than identical current new models available at several hobby stores. Never give a sucker an even break.

Nothing to do with Ebay. Stupid people do stupid things every day!

I'm sure those that bid more than the item can be bought new for haven't done any research and don't know what the going price range should be. What I wonder about even more is the occasional item listed on ebay for more than the going price range even before bids.

I sold three yellow page books for $70 each so I shouldn't complain!
