I spent the afternoon out today enjoying the nice weather. Came out with an old mason jar lid, some early 1900's shotgun shells, two casings with an "H" stamp on the end and my two best finds were a .45-70 casing and the misfired .45 Long Colt cartridge. I believe that both are military issued as they both don't have any markings and I was a couple miles away from an 1870's fort. Nothing of any value but I love the history!

The case with the "H"...if it is a rimfire case with double firing pin strikes it may have been fired in a Henry rifle or a Winchester M-1866. Gary
