A Stumpy Tail, also known as a Shingle Back. Theyre pretty docile mostly. There were two that lived at my parents place and they used to feed them canned peaches 😆

A big Goanna. This guy was around 5 foot long.

A small Dragon lizard, they can run on their back legs with the body raised. Funny to see and great camoflauge.

There are a few Koalas in our area.

Cockatoos, very clever and very noisy. They can learn to talk real easy too.

Tawny Frogmouths. They are a bird of prey that are the absolute masters of disguise. They will sit motionless for ages looking like a branch and blending into the branches.
They amaze me. Very easy to miss.

Thanks Chilli. Interesting animals. I would love to visit Australia if the government ever regains sanity.

Oh the memories of the first time seeing a flock of Cockatoos in a National Park.
Petting a Joey in the pouch, listening to the wildlife running by the tent pitch.
Not loving the Huntsman in the station wagon memories.
The 10,000 miles of driving around camping in the parks and sites will be cherished forever.
It was amazing to see a thousand plus little Rose parrots that gathered one day around our day.
The ghost trees are a beauty to behold.

You have been around the globe maybe more than me, pepper. Unfortunately my travels mainly for work.

man would love to check out Australia...except for all the things that can kill you. People told me horror stories of seeing even a koala jump people from a tree a mess someone up.

Camped for 2 months, never saw a snake, did see some spiders that could mess a person up.
Saw a large Lace Monitor Lizard eating nappy's at a campground one morning.
Needed to get away from the well travelled route after that.
House flies are well in the land of OZ.

Huntsmans are ok. We let them live around our place. They kill other things like roaches. Its the white tails I hate, they'll crawl into your bed and bite you then you get a wound that takes ages to heal. Iv been bitten several times by those. I hate them. This was my leg several months ago, took weeks to heal. You feel like using a cheese grater to scratch it, and it hurts when you put pressure on. Starts like that..

Then weeks of this..

We kill maybe 2 a week inside the house. They are night crawlers too. Only come out late in the dark. So you see them when you get up to go to the toilet or get a drink of water. I hate them with a passion.
We have Redbacks in our garage but they just do their thing in dark corners in a web catching things.
I wear gloves detecting for two reasons. To stop sun damage and protection from biters like Bulldog ants and spiders.
This is a mouse spider common in the bush where I am. They'll mess your day up. Highly venomous. You dont want to pick one up with a target.
This one was right next to where I dug up a target.

These big orb weavers are everywhere right now, you'll brush a dozen webs easy or more out of your way in the bush each day, unless you choose to go around them. Body section the size of say a marble. They are harmless and just freak you out if you unknowingly get the web with one on you then realise.

Those drop bears though, thankfully iv never encountered one. 😀

Those tiny little Piss Ants were nasty buggers. The spear grass would puncture the tarp and tent. Then the Little buggers would be an issue.
