Didn't realize until today there was a knapping section here. I am a 10 year exp. knapper... but fossils and my DFX have led me astray. Here are some of the stuff I made a couple of years ago. The whitish ones are Imperial Jasper and the others are Brazilian Agate. All from Mexico and I had to kiln all for 650F for about 6 hours. That stuff is like flaking fiberglass unless it is well heat-soaked. BTW, notice the blood spots on my lap-pad? LOL

Very nice work! Thanks for checking in, and come back as often as possible!

Post more pics if you have them! We love pics! :)

Thanks! Here is a point I made from some agate we found near a town called Vallee up near the Grand Canyon. After kiln and slabbing, it worked like butter.

Yes, I do sell them. I have not done much knapping for a while but I have all my tools and hundreds of pounds of rock. Time to get back to it I guess. I make utility points in sets for bow/atlatl to specific orders. (weight in grains, length and type). Each state has laws governing these.. some states they're not legal at all. I make jewelry grade points and eccentrics. I DO NOT replicate exactly any types though. I'll either use stone not typical for a type or perhaps different flaking tech. I've seen too many re-sold to unsuspecting collectors.. and I know that it's easy to remove my inscribed marks.
