Re: Some of my odd coins

For their age, these are in good condition.

In case you didn't know, the third coin you posted is a 1 Guilder coin from the Netherlands, 1848. The fourth coin is a 5 Centavos coin from Spain, 1878.

The first looks like a seated liberty dime, but you say it's made of paper???? :icon_scratch:

yes it is paper, i didnt take a picture of the back because it is in bad shape, part of it is missing. all i can read on the back is the word "one"
it is some type of paper though, it is the thickness of a normal dime.

I remember,as a young teen coin collector, an article in a coin magazine about a young collector who could not afford many coins. He would cut out pictures from coin books and glue them to thin cardboard discs and make his own "coins". After reading this my brother did the same thing, I imagine many kids did the same.
