:) Now THAT, SouthernBandit, is an impressive gathering of kool ol' goodies! :) What a beautiful old Morgan that is too. I only have one of these incredible coins, and I totally treasure it. Do you know how many people out there have never experienced, the "heft" of a chunk of real American history like that in thier hands? So, most modern day people don't even know the feel of "real" money anymore. These pieces are quite rare these days. Do Not be in any big hurry to sell it either, despite what the guy at the coin store may say, or even while watching the price of Silver climb and climb. 8) Nobody and I do mean Nobody, even comes close to knowing just how many of these old $1.00 coins, reminders of our past, are left. That makes them worth a lot more than just plain old stock market prices etc.

Thanks a bunch too SB, for such a nice post. Don't be shy to send more, anytime.! ;)

Nice finds! Did you dig them here in Alabama?
Is the acorn attached to that coin? If not, I dug one similar to it a couple of months ago.

Yep it was all dug here in North Alabama.
The acorn and the thing under it use to be a Union button.
