These are some Non Indian Artifacts I found while hunting for Indian artifacts In Mid-Missouri in the 1990s. I was big on hunting the creeks, streams, gravel bars in the rivers and fields bordering them for artifacts. These were found while I was hunting, unfortunately I was not in to metal detecting then.

Awesome finds! The A.J. stamp on the axe, would that be the maker or the initial of the owner you think?

I think it is the makers mark but that is just my opinion.

Wow you found that King George lll in my neck of the woods! Whoopie there's hope for me finding something akin to what the New England States boys find yet.

Nice finds and thanks for sharing and congratulations on the nice finds.

Eye finds like that would make a man go out and buy a first detector.

Wow those are some real nice finds. Congratulations.

Nice finds Treasure Hunter. Imagine having a metal detector on that spot.

Love the ax! Is that king George gold plated?

Counterfeit at what denomination? King George’s are 1cent ? Aren’t they?

All I can say is it appears to have been gold plated, it is as I found it, all I did was wash the dirt off of it. It was found on land adjacent to a creek that was an old stage coach road and records show use to be a stage way station there.

Thought I would bump this thread; such an axe deserves more traffic.

TH, the coin is a counterfeit British gold guinea. That's a great find, especially in Missouri-too bad it isn't the real thing! :treasurechest:
