Got out with olddude today, i had a plan of hitting my cornfield nice and early, I only had 4 hrs due to babysitter constraints lol so we headed up to the field and it was about 21 degrees out!!!, well we drive up over the hill and BAM!, CORN NOT CUT YET!, I can't type the words I shouted out at that moment, ok plan b, quick permission seeking. It took us about 35 minutes to gain permission at a nice turn of the century house, managed 6 keeper coins and a couple relics, not much trash but I was very selective what I dug due to the top 2 inches of ground being frozen solid!!! Here's the take for the day 3 ihs, 3 wheats, 2 spoon pieces and a small mangled buckle 20141121_141519.jpg20141121_141741-1.jpg20141121_142845-1.jpg1912, 17, and 42 wheats, 1881,99, and 1907 indians, not a bad way to maybe end my 2014 season, I'm hoping to get out to that freakin field once it's cut, good luck and hh!!!

Good finds for plan B lol. Wish I'd had a small shovel....I guarantee you I have one of those Sampsons very soon.

Update** On it's way. Let's go back to that tundra, lol.

yeah im gonna invest in a new toy for 2015 myself! still hanging on to the hope I can get out again before the deep freeze, but with work, baby duty, and deer season, looks kinda grim:BangHead:

Hope you don't mind if I piggyback....isn't worth a separate thread, lol. My finds weren't as impressive. I got a cool little Seagram's key fob/medal from 1937, a 41 wheat and some clad. Was ok, I guess, since I couldn't dig without ruining the plug because of the frost in the ground.

Yep, looks a bit dreary, moving toward the end of another year. Still, I don't have any bambi hunting season standing in my way. ;) LOL

It looks like you guys did ok for a Plan B. Maybe that cornfield will finish your season with a bang!

I don't care what you say, that thing is cool, you have a way of finding unique things lately626699178_tp.jpg that's what it would've looked like in 1937!

Thanks tom!, those 3 put me at 45 for the year, very surprising how many I got this year considering I only got 8 last year!

Very nice finds for a last minute permission! :occasion14:

Wow! 2" of frozen ground in PA, we must have at least that here in Ontario too!
I haven't been out since last Sunday and likely won't be again till Monday after the warm up!

This was on top of a windy mountain, Dave. The valleys aren't frozen yet.

Thanks dave, sometimes plan b or c is better than the original plan

I guess seeing that American Bald Eagle flying over wasn't the good omen I thought it was going to be, lol! I am still blushing from those words you said!

Lol dave, I guess my language was pretty harsh huh lmao!!, I just hate when a plan falls through, too bad the eagle didn't bring the goods eitherBatman Slapping Robin.jpg

Ok, no Bambi season, but you didn't say anything about a baby! Would you like to make an announcement here on TNet? Lol

I keep thinking it could be my last hunt and still check the weather hoping it will get better for 1 MORE HUNT
